Tripura State Medical Council (TSMC) plays an important role in managing and supervising the medical profession in the state. The council ensures that medical practices are legal, ethical, and in line with national standards. The first government-nominated Tripura State Medical Council was formed on 19th April 2011, with members chosen by the state government. In December 2014, the first elected council was created through an official voting process. This marked a shift towards a more structured and democratic medical governance system in Tripura.
